Benefits of eyelash extensions:

  1. Darker, longer and fuller lash line. Free yourself from the wasted time, frustration, and damage associated with eyelash curlers and mascara. No more clumpy lashes, smudges, and eye-irritating flakes. Eyeliner is optional as the base of the extension creates a line along the lid. Many clients do not feel the need to wear makeup at all.
  2. If done correctly, it actually helps with the growth of the natural lashes.
  3. Feel the incredible experience of increased eye contact, connection, and inner confidence.
  4. It is the best option when you are planning to go on a vacation.

What is the different between a classic look and a volume look?

A classic look is the most natural look for eyelash extensions. It's a technique that the artist uses to apply one extension on one isolated natural lash with medical grade adhesive made for eyelash extensions. The extension is applied approximately 1 - 2 mm away from the lash line. A volume look is an advance technique where the artist handmade a fan like from 1 - 6+ (depends on how much volume you want) extensions and applies to one isolated natural lash to create fuller and more volume look. Note that the thickness of the lashes use for volume are ultra thin compared to the lashes use for classic. Therefore, it should feels natural and light-weight on your natural lashes.

I have very sensitive eyes, will the lashes cause irritation?

Sensitivities come in many forms. Some people are sensitive to products like mascara or liner and others have  dry eyes or sensitivity to light and the list goes on.  If the question is whether the lashes itself will cause irritation,  that depends on the application. Lashes done well should be placed  1-2 mm away from your actual lash-line where your skin meets the lashes.  This way, the extension never touches the lash, and the tiny amount of adhesive will never touch your skin . Lashes or adhesive that touches the skin can cause itching, poking and general discomfort. Again, it's all about expert and precision in the artists application.  We highly recommended that you do a test first before the full-set. The artist will apply 5-10 extensions to each eye to test the sensitivity of your eyes. We also use medical grade adhesive for sensitive eyes. Please inform your artist that you have sensitive eyes before you come in for your appointment.

I am getting married, when should I come in for my appointment?

Again everyone is different, to be on the safe side, we recommended that you come in 2-3 weeks before your wedding day. That will gives enough time to see if you any allergic reaction to the lashes. Also we will have enough time to make adjustment to the lash design that you want.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

  1. Shampoo your hair before you come in for your appointment. We recommended that you do not get your lashes wet for at least 24 hours after your service.
  2. Cleanse your lashes with water based cleanser  and dry them well. DO NOT use oil-based cleanser or facial product on or near the eyes as that would cause the extensions to not attach to your natural lashes well.
  3. If you wear contact lenses, bring a case to take your lenses out during service or wear glasses instead.
  4. Do not curl your lashes or wear mascara.
  5. Try to stay away from caffeine if possible. We want you to relax and take a nice nap during your service.

How do I care for my lashes so they last?

  1. Do not get your extensions wet for the first 24 hours.
  2. After 24 hours, make sure to cleanse your lashes daily with a water-based cleanser. We carry We Love Eyes foam cleanser and highly recommended this cleanser to all of our clients. It's made specifically for eyelash extensions. Bodily oils that travel onto your extensions will break down adhesive if not removed by cleaning. Failure to clean your lashes will not only result in poor retention, but the build up of bacteria, and can lead to eye infections.
  3. Do not curl your lashes as this will cause your lashes to break.
  4. Stay away from heat such as BBQ or sauna.
  5. Brush your lashes often to keep them nice and in place.
  6. If you want to use mascara, make sure you get the mascara that is made specifically for eyelash extensions.
  7. Use only water-based facial products to remove eye make-up.
  8. Come in for refill every 2-3 weeks as your natural lash cycle is from 6-8 weeks. Your natural lash will fall out and new lash will grow and you will see some small gaps.
  9. NEVER apply mascara or liquid or gel eyeliner to your extensions or upper eyelid. Both will adhere to the extensions, cannot be safely cleansed off and will create a breeding ground for bacteria. If you ignore this rule then you may be charged for a removal and full set.
  10. Always arrive with clean extensions. The job or your therapist is not to clean your lashes due to the lack of client aftercare. Unclean extensions will either require a full removal for client safety, an additional cleansing fee, or less lashing time due to the cleaning time needed.

How long do eyelash extensions last? How often should I get them touched up?

Each extension should last for the remaining lifespan of the natural eyelash. As your natural lashes grow and shed, the extensions will grow and shed with them. Most clients experience enough shedding within 3 weeks to be in need of a touchup. Some clients need, or want, to come every 2 weeks. These clients either have a somewhat faster growth cycle, are a little rougher on their lashes, or just prefer to have their lashes at maximum fullness as much as possible. How full your lashes will look at the end of your touch-up appointment will be greatly affected by how many lashes you have when you arrive for your appointment- ideally you should have 50% of your extensions still on at touch-up time. Please keep this in mind when determining how long to wait to schedule your touch-ups. Also arriving on time for your appointments will ensure you will receive the maximum amount of eyelashes. We require at least 25% of your extensions to be remaining at the time of your service to qualify for a touch-up service. Waiting more than 4 weeks between appointments will require another full set appointment. Some people ask, “Will they all fall out at the same time?” No, your extensions will fall out one at a time over several weeks in a subtle shedding process.

Humans shed approximately 2-5 natural eyelashes per upper lid, per eye, per day (lets average this at 3 per day), and your therapist will apply approximately 100 extensions to the suitable natural lashes of each eye, therefore you will see the following general loss patterns:

  • After 7 days you will lose 21 extensions
  • After 14 days you will lose 42 extensions
  • After 21 days you will lose 63 extensions

Therefore after 3 weeks you may have lost over half your set.
